Jack Cotterill Tree Services Sustainability Roadmap

Welcome to Jack Cotterill Tree Services sustainability page, where expert care meets safe and efficient tree removal solutions. While trees provide numerous benefits to our environment, there are occasions when removal becomes necessary for safety, property protection, or development purposes.

Introduction

When our business journey began in 2014, our vision was to innovate and stand out from the crowd.

With the pressing issue of climate change increasingly on our minds and affecting our daily lives, we pondered: Could we make a greater impact?

The resounding answer was YES.

Admittedly, the nature of our industry often necessitates tree removal, which contributes to the reduction of global oxygen output and in turn aids increase of carbon dioxide. Sometimes, alternatives are challenging. For instance, in cases where trees must be removed for permitted development projects, there's little room for negotiation. However, in residential scenarios, we strive to find solutions that preserve trees through strategic pruning, albeit in smaller dimensions. Yet, there are instances where the sheer size of a tree in a confined space renders such pruning impractical, risking the tree's health or aesthetics.

In such circumstances, we propose replanting options with species of smaller stature or narrower crown spreads. Our passion for tree planting knows no bounds, and we're always eager to discuss various species and their benefits.

In 2024, we underwent a significant shift in company policy. We proudly announce that one of our commitments is to plant one tree for every tree felled. As of now, in 2024, we've already planted over 150 trees. Additionally, we've taken proactive steps to offset all carbon emissions generated by our operations, including driving to job sites and using chainsaws.

Jack Cotterill Tree Services follow a continuous improvement programme to improve our local environment by developing the company’s plan that serves as a roadmap for our efforts to minimise our carbon footprint and contribute to a greener future.
